With more than 20 years of experience in the industry, the writer, director, producer, playwright, actor, and studio owner Tyler Perry is bringing his latest film, A Jazzman’s Blues, to TIFF. Written by Perry in 1995 and filmed last year at his 330-acre studio lot in Atlanta, Georgia, the film follows an investigation into an unsolved murder — unravelling a story of forbidden love, deceit, and a secret. Visionaries is excited to present this session with Perry to explore his long-standing reputation for bringing distinct visions to life on both the big screen and the small screen. Perry’s wide-spanning career has set him apart as a creator that embodies the core attributes of a visionary in the entertainment industry today.
